I've been knitting the Icarus Shawl lately. It was kind of boring and slow at first, but the end was very interesting. I still have to weave the ends in but it was easy to take photos while it was blocking.

Pimping the blog:Cerlandia. You might actually learn something about my life if you read it too. That's an added bonus for you.
LJ is dead lately. Very few of my flist actually posts anymore. Has everybody moved on to facebook?

Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you.
Knitting It's what I do. I also know how to crochet and sew, but I probably knit the most. It's something I can do while the kids play and it's easily put down for when they're not playing well.
Road trips I love a good road trip. The kind where you take your time getting there and go visit tacky things on the side of the road. It's been a while since we took a good road trip and I'd like to do one again. It says something about your relationship when you can take a road trip together and not be completely annoyed with each other.
Sarcasm Just one of the many services I offer. My children should understand sarcasm by the age of 5.
Politics The only thing George Bush did well was make people care about politics and I was definitely one of them. It's very hard for one person to make a difference though and I wish people would come together more often. We do have the power to change things, but not by sitting in our living rooms.
Life before kids (okay this one I'm just curious about. :P) Was much simpler. I'm not really sure what you want to know, but if you ask specifically or explain better I can tell you.

I was watching Arthur with Daughter today and the grandma knits. It made me realize how much I notice when people on tv knit and if they do it right or not. Marge on the Simpsons knits differently. Every time she's shown knitting the ends of the needles are pointed up and the pointy ends that the yarn is on is down. I tried doing it like that once and it's freakishly hard. Does anyone actually knit like that? Or perhaps that people drawing Marge just don't know any knitters. Gromit is knitting like I do in my icon - pointy ends up.

I am so incredibly saddened and confused by California. Why was it unconstitutional to not let gays/lesbians marry last year, but all of a sudden this year it isn't? What exactly did Bush do to the constituion before he left that I missed?

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's, aunts, grandmothers, and godmothers.
I was going to garden, but it kind of looks like rain. I bought tomato plants at the farmer's market yesterday and I wanted to get them in the ground. I'm going back Tuesday so I can get an heirloom tomato (they were out of them yesterday). I've always wanted an heirloom tomato but I suck at starting seeds.

From mousme
Comment to this post, and I list five things I associate with you. They might make sense or they might be totally random — then post that list, with your commentary, to your lj (or just add a reply back at me). I and other people get our lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.
(These five things from mousme)
Knitting I knit a lot. I started about 5 years ago to fill the time in between looking for jobs and I've never stopped. According to some people I also knit things very quickly, but I think it's more because I do instant gratification projects. I am currently working on a sweater and since I have a lot of time on my hands these days it is going quickly.
Baby! I'm pregnant. 3 more weeks and I'll be considered full term, hopefully I will also get off the dr. mandated sloth then.
Food I used to cook a lot. I haven't been able to as much since I became pregnant due to lack of energy and then the dr. mandated sloth. I also like to grow my own food, although I fear I won't be able to this summer. Instead I'll go to the local farmstand. I do love the fresh produce that summer brings.
Feminism I was born a Feminist.
Politics I didn't become really political until Bush was put into office. It was a reaction to how poor of a job he was doing at the time. It also made me realize that it does matter who is in office and if you want things to change you need to fight for it and vote. Sadly, I'm still very ignorant when it comes to world politics.

-I'm still pregnant (I would like at least 4 more weeks then I'll be full term). I'm really trying to make the best of the dr. mandated sloth since I will take it over having another preemie.
-Peapod. Getting groceries delivered and shopping online is the best thing ever.
-Sleeping in. The insomnia has hit during the night, so it's nice I don't have to get up with Daughter.
-Husband who has been extremely helpful (a little cranky, but understandably so) since the dr. mandated sloth was prescribed.
-Plenty of knitting and reading time.

Parent Television Council files a complaint with the FCC about Family Guy.
When did I miss Family Guy becoming a family oriented show? I was watching it once when Husband took Daughter shopping and when they came home I turned it off because it's not appropriate for young children. I just thought that was common sense, but perhaps I'm wrong. Are we all just supposed to watch PBS kids because parents can't shut off a tv or tell their kids they can't watch a certain program? How boring.

Last time I checked, the majority of Americans were pro-choice. So why doesn't the House in North Dakota represent these people?
source I feel this is too important to just link to.
Feb 17 2009 7:37PM KXMCTV Minot North Dakota's House of Representatives has passed a bill effectively outlawing abortion.
The House voted 51-41 this afternoon to declare that a fertilized egg has all the rights of any person.
That means a fetus could not be legally aborted without the procedure being considered murder.
Minot Republican Dan Ruby has sponsored other bills banning abortion in previous legislative sessions - all of which failed.
He also sponsored today's bill and says it is compatable with Roe versus Wade - the Supreme Court decision which legalized abortion.
(Rep. Dan Ruby, -R- Minot) "This is the exact language that's required by Roe vs. Wade. It stipulated that before a challenge can be made, we have to identify when life begins, and that's what this does." But Minot Democrat Kari Conrad says the bill will land North Dakota in court, trying to defend the constitutionality of a law that goes against the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.
(Rep. Kari Conrad, -D- Minot) "People who presented this bill, were very clear that they intended to challenge Roe versus Wade. So they intend to put the state of North Dakota into court defending Roe vs. Wade"
The bill now goes to the North Dakota Senate.

If you were asked to get your daughter ready for bed right now and quickly because she was tired and crabby, what would you do?
If your answer was pull out the blueberries and start eating them with her you win the prize of my anger.
